We have for the last nine years been pressuring Tiger Hillarp-Persson to write another chess book after the hugely successful and in my opinion simply wonderful Tiger’s Modern. I just pushed again and he was squirming a bit, saying that he might get a round to it.
More importantly, he said that he is teaching a bit these days and that he has created a nice little website. So we thought, if we push that, maybe he will feel grateful and write another book for us. Is it too much to ask?
Hi Jacob,
The link to Tiger’s website seems to be wrong!
Fixed
I’m very pleased to see that Tiger has taken up Go (following in the steps of Lasker!). Go is my other great board-game love, although I have ignored it recently to concentrate on chess, which is more in my blood. Often when I read about both games at once it is because a Go player is putting down chess or vice versa, often based on fairly beginner misunderstandings. It is nice to see a very strong player in one game become fluent in the other.
@dfan
As I understood him, he did it partly because he has been doing more chess coaching and wanted to have the fresh experience of learning a game so he could better understand his pupils. A typical deep and highly committed idea.
If you need a trainer, I recommend Tiger!
Hmmm. written here in March you’d mentioned “the Modern Tiger”!? I was awaiting it with baited breath.so its been cancelled?:-(
