A sad realisation

It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the realisation that John will not be able to complete his work on the 1.e4 books. He is half way through the first book, but overburdened by managerial work and the responsibility to our authors, who deliver on time, to get their books out quickly and efficiently.

We apologise to everyone who were looking forward to these books. At least we have the Negi-books for you 1.e4 guys…

I should maybe say that this is Quality Chess’ birthday. We were founded on April the 1st 2004 – and that is no joke!

Of course its an april fools joke! If he managed to write The King´s Gambit, then the 1.e4 books is not a workload that will stop a scottish ‘king’ 🙂
Besides…you QC-guys would never ditch us e4-loyals would you??? And I think he´s more than half done!

Today I went trough first 100 pages rather rapidly to get a feeling. I saw totally different chess which is is very appealing to me. Since I’m playing also the KID as Black vs 1.d4, I find this book very very good.

Thanks for good job, and keep up the good work 🙂

  4. What no one wished you happy birthday yet?
You really must have worried them Jacob
Anyway congratulations to all at QC on another excellent year of work.
    Long may it continue!

  5. If only half way through first book after all this time then “somewhere June” this year in the predictions does not look feasible, or does it?

  6. Now I’ve heard there was a secret move
That Negi played, and it did improve
But you don’t really care for openings, do you?
    It goes like this
    pawns on the fifth
The bishop swap, and the rook lift
The baffled Shaw composing “Play 1.e4”
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah…

  7. John had told me not to do it, as some might actually fall for it. So I made it as weak as possible…

  8. I wish you guys would have reposted this today for April Fools. That would have been hilarious. I’m still looking forward to these books. 🙂
