We have been harassed (rightfully so) for the slow progress on putting books on Forward Chess. But finally I have the update that we have put a book in the store. It is of course Richard Pert’s Playing the Trompowsky. I am sure that there is a lot for us to learn before we make the most of this new format, but when I look at the first books we made, I also cannot imagine that it was really us who put those together. They are good, yes, but we have learned a lot since then!
Very good news and I hope “Playing 1.e4” two volumes by John Shaw will be available on Forward Chess, because it is very nice to bring our repertoire with us anywhere. 🙂
Its not yet available but i guess it should be soon.
I really hope that all of your books would be in e-format soon. Personally i am holding back and waiting for e-versions.
Many reasons for that
a) Not much space anymore for books
b) I like to have my books with me when and if I travel
c) Much easier to study (i did buy a couple of books from Forward Chess catalog and its really nice and could be better)
d) I don’t want to buy the books twice (in paper and e-version), although i will buy a couple of the books I own in e-versions once they are out.
I really hope the “expirement” goes well and you adopt e-versions for every publication
@Kostas Oreopoulos
Not all, but most. I am thinking 75-80%. Some are not too relevant anymore and a few would be too much work for too little sales, I fear.
The ebook has been submitted at Apple a few days ago and it doesn’t take more than 5 to appear at the shop after that. The moment the book is available for Apple it will be available for the Android as well.
There was a slight hick-up as Forward Chess were unsure of the price and I forgot to tell them…
Bought it yesterday evening. Very nice to have this additional option now.
Is there a schedule available? I’ve been checking Forward Chess every week for many months now and was beginning to suspect that there weren’t ever actually going to be an QC books released. I’m glad to see one finally arrive, but it’s one I already have in hardcover.
I hope the schedule will pick up, and they’re not going to be comingout at a rate of one or two every six months.
@Joseph Knecht
I have prepared a schedule for the blog, but not yet asked John to make it live. So yes, and it will be published very soon.
That’s good news. Thanks!
