Forward Chess, Videos and Discount Coupons

Hello Quality Chess readers. These are unusual times, but I am sure you see plenty about that on other websites, so other than wishing you all well, I shall stick to chess-related topics.

Our friends at Forward Chess have started having authors record videos about their books. A recent example is Boris Avrukh’s video about Dynamic Systems

Forward Chess are also offering a 20% discount on Quality Chess books for the next two weeks – until April 28. The discount uses a special coupon which is applied on the shopping cart screen of their website. Please note that the discount only works on the Forward Chess webstore, as app stores don’t allow coupons. The coupon code is QUALITY

You can find Quality Chess books on Forward Chess at the previous link.

    I hope everyone at Quality Chess is keeping in good health during these trying times!

    Best wishes from the USA, guys.

    Thanks for flagging. Have just bought Playing the Grünfeld for £14.55 on Forward Chess using the discount code. This is my first foray onto Forward Chess and it looks good (and my wife is a lot happier than another book coming in to clutter up the house!).

    Hello,

    Is there any news on Aagaard’s forthcoming “GM Knowledge A Matter of Technique” book?

    Besides, many publishers are producing test books in the style of old Jansa’s “The best move”. If I’m correct Aagaard made such book suggestion in the past?

    This isn’t really the place, but as I didn’t get a response to an email I sent, can I ask if Quality Chess still processing direct book sales as normal? I placed an order a week ago (no. 7319) and it is still in “Processing” although both books are published, I’d guess normally they would have already shipped.

    I completely understand if things are not fully operational at the moment, but I haven’t seen any indication anywhere that this is the case.

    Thanks!

    @Scott
    Hi Scott, I took a big pile of books to the post office on Friday. If the order was from before then, it should have gone out then.

    The office is closed, but I have been there a few times to pick up books. I process them myself 1-2 times a week. Kallia is down with the virus and Claire is on furlough. Andrew, John and Colin are all working from home as myself. My kitchen table has become the new packing station for web orders.

    At the moment I am getting towards the end of Gelfand’s two next books. We also have other interesting books on the way.

    Technique will be completed over the summer.

    @Jacob Aagaard
    Is there anything to say about the new edition of Calculation which seemed to be released at the start of the year? Is it related to the still to be released expanded Chessable version?

    @Paul H
    I recorded free bonus videos for ChessAble. I do not know if they released them. We will tell them about the improvements, we do not know if they will include them.

    I am not trying to sell the same book to people twice. We also told Forward Chess about the updates, I am sure. Honestly, I cannot do everything myself :-).
