Working on the second Gelfand book

Boris and I joked to each other about when people would pick up on the fact that we would write more than one book together, something that became very clear to me the moment he presented the material he wanted to go over in the first session we did together.

It happened already on the day that the Forward Chess book was released. There is a comment in the book that refers to “a later volume”. Someone asked me on Facebook if this meant that there would be more books. It does. For a start, we are working on Dynamic Decision Making in Chess. We have talked about the structure of the book and have already recorded Boris’s part of a few games. I am especially keen on the notes to game six in his match in 2011 in Kazan against Alexander Grischuk. At least I am trying to be, because I am currently writing them down!

You may be wondering – does this lead to a delay in Thinking Inside the Box? I have to confess that it will. I am working on many projects; helping out a bit here and there. It fits well with my private circumstances at the moment. I need to build up the energy for tackling this big, big project I have in my head and my notes…

    What about the series of books “From The Scratch” and one about “Essential/Typical” patterns in Chess?

    Is there still plans to produce them eventually?

    ### Ftacnik Lubomir – Grandmaster Repertoire 6 The Sicilian Defence ###

    Will new edition of 6B also have original Ftacnik’s Anti-Sicilian section?

    I find his treatment of particularly c3 Sicilian very appealing 🙂

    When will this book be out?

    @fm to be Tactics from scratch is must read book. I would be very happy if author would write strategy and endgame from scratch. Tactics from scratch is the best book for better understanding of tactics for a player of first category or candidate master i ever read.

    Sweet! Looking forward to this next volume. I still have to read all of the Grandmaster prep series so this give me time to catch up. 🙂

    Best wishes Jacob and good luck.

    @FM To Be
    Something will happen eventually. But it is very very basic stuff.

    What is happening is a bit up in the air. But it will not include Anti-Sicilians. This is what 6A was about.

    Greetings QC staff, Thank you for the effort you expend and the products you produce. Are there any plan(s) for publishing English language translations of “Rubinstein,” by Razuvaev or “Chess Heritage of Alekhine,” by Kotov, or both.
