Timing issues – Mainly bad news

We were away for the weekend, playing in the 4NCL. Back in the office today. Colin is sorting out all the websales and so that came Friday-Monday. So the delay is minimal.

Worse is that our printer in Estonia has fallen behind schedule. The publication date for Python Strategy, Learn from the Legends 10 Year Celebratory Edition and Positional Decision Making in Chess will therefore be pushed a bit, till the 17th of June. We are very sorry; it is outside of our control.

We are not behind with the other books we are working (at least no more than previously so!) and will follow up with quite a few additional publications over the summer. There are some books we have already announced, as well as 1-2 surprises.

  1. Could you advance us if new releases will have the usual price? (24.99 and 29.99)

    Hope that in the 1-2 surprises will be “Thinking inside the box” 🙂

  2. Would it be possible to give an rough indication when the pdf excerpt of Positional Decision Making will be online? I’ll buy the book anyway but I’m curious 😉

  3. Will the book by Razuvaev be an english translation of the german “Gambite – richtig gespielt” or will it be something entitrely different?

    @Fer
    The Gelfand book will be €29.99 for the hardcover. The paperback is released at the end of the year. You should be able to get those details in the coming soon section, though I would have to check if this is right!

    Yes, we will stick to our routine, which is Forward Chess is 7 days before Quality Chess publication. So the Gelfand book will be on Forward Chess from June 10th, one week before the hardcover is published.

    The paperback version of Gelfand will not be available until at least 6 months later; in fact, maybe early 2016.

    The Petrosian book will not be on Forward Chess at all. I will give away a boring legal secret – we don’t have the rights to publish an electronic version of it.

    @Phil Colllins

    The Lurker beat me to it – Quality Chess is officially opposed to the Bishop’s Gambit.

    Our translation is from the Russian not German. But if the German version is a book of about 130 pages about Gambits by Razuvaev, then it may well be the same thing.
